Really really been very busy to blog!

Firstly, I've cleared the final panel review! =) I was worried sick about my project because there have been many problems along the way but miraculously, every time I prayed for all to be well, the defaulty status quo returned. So the final panel review was setting everyone's nerves rattling. It was the deciding factor for our 10 modular units! So in addition to that I have tons to deadlines to meet and even tests and exams looming near. It was a crazy period. But it all was worth it because I walked through the journey with God. He gave me the tools I needed for the war and the blessings that I wanted.

So on the day of the final panel review, I was thinking if my group would make it to the next round. We had done everything to the best of our abilities, seriously our best. Many major changes were made and we treated our project room like our second home. The panel came and at first it was a stern look on their tired faces. We carried on with our presentation and it didnt take long for God to show how powerful prayers can be. The panel soon relaxed and we were able to answer their questions, just like how I prayed to God for them to be able to relate to our project and for us to have the knowledge to handle their questions. Nights and nights of research paid off. It became more of a discussion session and they seemed satisfied with what we have achieved.

The next day my supervisor came and said this to me: "Congratulations, you guys made it to the next round!" So this time round, its deputy directors and principal lecturers. If we make it through, the A will be printed on our results slip =D

Thank you God! Amen.

Alright this is unbelievable to me as well, but I've passed my driving test! Most probably the license will be posted to me next week if nothing goes wrong but I can drive as of the moment I passed it =) The drivin instructor was very nice and I didnt do any u-turns! No e-brake as well and all the circuit courses were perfect, i.e. 0 pts! The outside road driving was alright too but the 16 pts that he gave me was for being too slow outside. Well its better to be slow than fast. Prayed very hard before the test and God showed me the way. Thank you Jesus! I was blessed with the same conditions as my first test and now I am even more convinced with the phrase, if you do your best, God will do the rest. Over the next few days I should be driving my parents and cousins around my estate for their weekly routine like marketing, tuition, shopping, family gathering and after not so long, expressway driving. =P

Cant believe that we have to dedicate 5 weeks of our 7 weeks hols to VPP?! Like we're only left with 2 weeks of hols before the super hiong sch semester starts, for its last time. Well, only 6 mths left before I graduate.

Hmmm not been here for a longgggg time.

Alright, driving test coming again soon, hope my form and mental state does not fail me again. Not that Im excited to drive, just that I dont wanna waste money and time =P

So so so, now's the end of Project design 1 and Im really proud of the power supply, 90% done by me! I mean finally we are seeing the fruits of our labour and what we've learnt is really put to use. I find doing project challenging and really pushing my thinking to the limits. Hardware's completed, software 80% done, so what's left is the report, which is the most important element. Really hope to make it to the outside review panel stage =D

Cant wait for the 7 week hols to start, then I can finally get to do what I wish to before poly semester starts for the last time and then army =(

Whoa seriously this hols i discovered a new "hobby", watching taiwanese variety shows. Jacky Wu on Sat, Zhong Yi Da Ge Da on Sun, Chao ji xin guang da dao on sun night and Bai wan da ge xing on mon night. In the past I was quite puzzled why mum subscribed to channel 56.

Now Im appreciating it and watching in more than anyone else in the family =)

Esp. Zhong Yi Da Ge Da's magic shows. Liu Qian is seriously super cool and his tricks are super smooth. Aunt says that he's quite charismatic which can help silently during the presentation of his tricks. Better than any of the other judges on the panel.

So for the best drama serials, it goes to HK, and now, variety shows, Taiwan.

Whooo, I've finally got my favourite author of all times, Malcom Gladwell!

Read his recent book, "Outliers" and I find that it is just a fantastic representation of the backgrounds of successful people and why sometimes individual merits are not the sole and often too, crucial factors behind the reasons for success. Like what was mentioned in the starting chapter of the book, psycologists like to call it "accumulative advantages". Whoa, nice terms. His connecting points just make me wanna read on to find out what other reasons behind personal success are not due solely to individual merit. Fresh perspective I would say.

So since I had 2 out of his 3 books, I got dad to complete the set. "The tipping point", how the spark can change everything in short.

Its no wonder he was named Times Magazine's 100 most influential people in 2005.

Ok watched night at the museum 2 today and its as good as its predecessor. However, I just cant figure out how the mess created is going to be cleared. hmmmm..

Anyway in the movie there were these three angles, or rather cupids, that were singing My heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Super nice singing so I went home and googled only to find that it was actually the Jonas Brothers! Youtubed My Heart Will Go On and I clicked on this by the Vienna Boys Choir. I was in got a auditory treat. The singing was fantastic!! the new beat element that came in just gives and brings up the tempo of the song to another majestic level! Crisp and fine tuned voice from these young boys really make the whole song a pity not to be heard on surround sound systems. Simply lovely!

Alright, time for some soccer frenzy.

Got my new shoes, new low bounce ball, and now, practising and practising. Like what Pele said, Everything is practise and if I were to train at the last minute before a match/game, I'd be failing Roy Keane's quote of "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail"

So , Joga Bonito!

Ok, close to 3 weeks of not blogging and continuing off from my last post, manchester united lost. But Im not going to talk about how they should have won, because they totally didnt deserve to lift the trophy from the start of the match. Lousy play.

And I failed my driving test. Oh man I could have passed if not for the zebra crossing incident that cost me 16 pts?! I mean yeah, its an expensive experience to purchase. Never mind, next test is on 15th July and I'll make sure I do it right! =)

So the past 3 weeks have been much of rushing of work, from WISP assignment submission and fretting over the quotations by various sources leading up to plagiarism. Lucky for me, the plagiarism count was 3% less than the max limit.

Project work was a mad rush too and the main aim was to finish the acrylic boards before the panel review. The boards were done, but the calibration of the circuits wasnt very much completed because of various troubleshooting problems. Well, the review panel didnt need it to be working all together so its safe for now.

Common test week and yesterday was ANCS paper. Pretty much alright though I could have done better. Fortunately I went the extra mile to memorize the DME interrogator circuit because I had a gut feeling they would come up with a blank diagram and tadah! they did. Caught many by surprise who thought a block diagram would be provided when in this case, they didnt.

CAEM paper today. Im glad to say I've gained much more knowledge this time round and I've grasped those critical vector concepts, though my memory is failing me and I keep losing track of the vital formulas.

FCS and AL paper left, so its a fast transition to switch from a more circuitry/maths paper to a more law and argumentitive and explanation paper. =X

After that its just hols! 2 weeks is short though, considering how much work I have to do. School assignment, wiring for project work, revising my work, playing SOCCER!, getting some pool and badminton, running, reading (loads of books piled up for me to read =P). Well actually had I passed my driving test and since my parents are going to be away for a week, I could just drive around and save myself some waiting time for the bus! Hmmmm...... Not significant time saved though.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Lord for helping me in whatever dire circumstances I was involved in. The Lord had answered to my prayers and it just makes me ashamed of how Im not giving my 100% when the Lord is paving the way for me. Thank you Lord, thank you Jesus for blessing me and answering to my prayers. You were there for me when I needed You most and Im grateful for the help my Heavenly Father has provided to me. It has refreshed me and kept me going, with hope in my heart. This is not luck, its You at work. Thank you Lord, Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Okay, time to revise FCS and look forward to 12.30pm on Friday!

Thursday, May 28, 2009

For me to stay up till the wee hours of the morning only means 1 thing, to witness Manchester United walking away with the UEFA Champions League league trophy. I hope I dont end up in disappointment.

I have alr paid my price of only sleeping 1 hour later on before I embark on 8-6 sch journey. So are you going to make my night worth Manchester United?

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Im just so so afraid and nervous. Its my Traffic Police test next tues. =P

Friday, May 22, 2009

Ok now that my group accelerated our process to finish etching and with a super driller like me, we managed to start on our PCB board at 9am today =)

But with this comes another worry, which is the possibility of our PCB board not working =X

I brought the PCB board home to do and try perfecting the solder points because I really want to give my all for this project. This is my last push for my hard work over the last 2 years and I dont want this semester to pull my hard-maintained efforts down. I will make sure my soldering is to the best of my abilities, with that being desoldering and soldering it again because it does help some bit.

So tomorrow's my first driving revision lesson after not driving for 5 weeks and I hope to be able to recall everything fast. Because after tomorrow it will just mean another 3 more lessons before the driving test and I do not want to spend money and time on trying for it again so its just gonna be 1 good shot at it and DONE!

Feeling a little muscle strain these few days due to the increase in number of the push-ups and stretching I've been doing. I have a feeling NAPFA's round the corner and its certainly better to be more disciplined to train first before being told NAPFA's coming =D Well cos Im aiming for a gold or at least a silver. HAHAHA

Rest, sleep, then driving!!!! in another 10 hours!

Monday, May 18, 2009

Despite all the troubleshooting and redo-ing of PCB board, feeling down and sian-ed when I know something's gone wrong with the board, I never fail to find a way out of it. Perhaps God's just supplying me with all the experience I need in this field. Serious, just when I really thought it was just going to be over or I had to do it all over again, God gave me this new lease of hope and gets me start moving all over again. =)

Now workload is really reaching the peak and Im sad to say its seriosly taking its toll on me =( I cant get to watch my favourite 9pm show on channel 55 which is very very SUSPENSEFUL and very nice to watch. You know it when my dad gave my bro 10 dollars to walk to my grandma's place to get the dvd cos he just had to see the outcome of the next episode. Hahahahaha. And since the master bedroom's dvd player somehow cant play those *erherm* dvds and the 1 downstairs's spoilt for so long, they all just went into my room to watch the next episode with the tv right in front of me and Im doing my FCS report!!!!! Luckily, there was much suspense in the air so the whole room was silent with the exception of the audio from the TV.

Tmr's WISP HEROS seminar and I think there's this ex chief of army or armed forces coming down to speak to us. =P The seminar's gonna last 2 hs till 7.30pm and I seriously hope its a fruitful 2 hours cos I hate wasting time in school listening to nonsense. But I doubt it would be. Well, I hope its not. =D

So I've a feeling NAPFA's round the corner thus I decided to elevate my exercises to another level. I dont have much time to spare after school which is like 7 plus at night by the time I get home. So I've decided to run in the wee hours of the morning! Like at 6am to 6.30am.Haha. I tried it for the first time today and its kinda hot and humid though many would think that the morning air is cool and fresh. Its certainly fresh, but not cool though. I had much sweat on me after my run and I had to cool down for a longer time than usual. =P

Im gonna have to call some lecturers tmr, cos my CCA pts are NOT IN!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Lastly, the graduation ceremony.

Kenny, Teo Huei, Sherman and I were ushers. So it just means we had to wear blazers and it was just so so so hot.
Roger's looking on to see what's going on with the 4 "handsomes" HAHAHAHA
With the white shirt and tie. =)

Now with the blazers. Muhahaha

Location of grad ceremony at convention centre. Can seat about 500-700 easily

Oh man, my tie wasnt straight. =P

With the only graduate we knew . Hahahaha

Oh so its like once in a lifetime to wear a Ngee Ann blazer cos not many events need it. So we really took photos of ourselves for memory's sake. Hahahahah..
Yup the next post is about my division magazine. I mean yes, as the chief editor and after seeing it through so many changes and going through rounds and rounds of checking, the final product is out! I realised yeah, it may be about CCA points ultimately, but I learnt alot from this. Editting, appropriate use of words, basic photography skills, how to edit photos and much more!

So let me take you through this,

Contents Page

Various clubs in the ECE divsion and yeah, that in the middle of the left page is the Avionics club!

Face for ALL the project groups, which is estimated to be at least close to 100! It is such a tiring job, having to match the faces with the names and recheck many times over to ensure it is error free!

Now, the magazine team!!

Yup, that's the chief editor in the centre..*HINT HINT

My write-up. Decided not to copy the previous year's since Im UNIQUE so I'd got to write my own piece. =)
Finally so, 3 whole weeks of 8-6 meetings in school produced this. Though the photos werent clear due to their original format being sent to the editting team being quite pixelated, I guess the rest of the magazine was quite alright. The cover page drew the most positive comments, since Richard is the best technology student this year, doing ECE proud.
Ok since Im quite unclear about blogger's photo posting procedures, Im gonna have 3 separate posts for the 3 different events that happened to me over the past week.

First up, the Ubin cycling trip!

Kenny, Meiyi, Teo Huei, Caine, Jen Kiat, Satish and I went to ubin for cycling! Suppossed to be a trip for the year 1s and in the end, only we, the committee members went =( Pure fun. Hahaha.

Met at Lavender MRT before taking bus 2 to Changi Jetty. Going to Ubin reminds me of the old NP days when we would be going there for ATC and for me, OBS.

On the boat to UbinCaine acting cool! Hahaha
Reached our destination!!
8 Storeys high! Whooo

Teo Huei pushing his bike when he was suppossed to be behind me?!?!

Taking a photo at the quarry with Jen Kiat up to his usual Wushu antics

Highest point in Ubin and I looked quite frustrated cos there's seriously lots of ants crawling ard my legs!!!
Ok this was certainly fun and erm yup, I was the medic for the day since I brought my first aid kit =P Except for Kenny scraping a little of his knee cap, we had much enjoyment through the whole journey. Visited many places and for me it relieved the memories I had of Ubin since I last stepped in 3 years back. Right now, I have Alex and Marcus asking me to bring them there. So it just means, Ubin 1 more time!!!! =) Well I wont mind.

I am feeling so compelled to blog now, because I have seen someone's effort being recognised after 18 years.

If you would read today, 12th May 2009's The Straits Times article at page A9, you would see this doctor with a warm smile. To many out there he might be unfamiliar to you but for me, he is sort of my family's main doctor for almost 12 years and counting.

I totally agree with the article's content. Dr Koh seriously never overcharges and in good times and bad, it still remains the same. Sometimes he never even charges mum for some minor consultation which other doctors in many clinics would have. No this is not a sweeping statement, I have experienced it myself. For the past 12 years, we can safely rely on his medicine. Whatever other doctors give, he prescribes the same, but at a much lesser cost for sure.

Well I am not siding him because he charges much lesser than other clinics out there, but he really is a doctor with the spirit of one in him. We dont expect landslide cheap rates, but at the very least we hope to be charged reasonably. And at the current downturn, he could have still charged the same as per normal, but he felt for those suffering out there. And I think this just amplifies the good of the religion and to me I feel that he has brought honour in the name of God. Seldom do we see such cases of good doctors around who would lend a helping hand and as what he said,

"As a doctor, I want to be one who can hopefully make them well - but definitely not make them poor"

Im in awe of this sentence.

Many see being in the medical field as a gateway to the 5Cs. Well though Dr Koh drives a Volvo and lives in a semi-D, Im perfectly fine with it! Afterall, nobody said a doctor must be those like we always see in the movies, wearing ragged clothes, carrying a backpack and moving around treating patients. So long as he does the right thing a doctor should be doing according to conscience. Then again people say how do you measure conscience, well, when you were born, God had already etched the answer deep down in your heart. =)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling - 1 Peter 4:8-9

YES my board CAN WORK!!!!!!

WOOOOO!!!!!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!

Monday, May 04, 2009

Oh shucks man this feeling is really terrible..My breadboard seriously doesnt wanna work now. I mean, while I was testing it last fri it worked fine and then now, it just cant turn the motor the other direction! Damn!

Gotta go troubleshoot it now. ARGH!!!

Friday, May 01, 2009

Well I dont need a fortune teller to inform me that year 3 is busy. From the list of activites that I have stored at the back of my head, I can vaguely remb some impt ones like....

(1) ECE magazine's final stage
(2) Project PCB design and breadboarding
(3) revision for quizzes coming up
(4) microsoft flight simulator flying test
(5) ubin cycling trip for aerospace electronics society (whooo)
(6) probably peer tutoring on thurs from 5-6
(7) rockwell collins industrial visit trip near june

Yeah so that's some of the more important ones. There are also minute activities that I might not have recalled but they are just as significant as well. And not to mention my driving test coming up soon in about a few weeks times =)

So ystd was doing breadboarding and half-way to school at around HCI's stop, I realised I forgotten to bring my breadboard!! So I had to call mum to bring it down to school for me. Then while testing the breadboard, the lousy quality potentiometer had smoke coming out of the casing so I immd shut off the power supply. Tested again a few minutes later and I mangaed to make the motor turn as I like!! Well that's not a happy conclusion if you'd read on. So went to lunch at KAP and flight sim-ed from 1-3. Heard from marcus his board couldn't work after lunch so I went on to try mine too to see if there's anything wrong as well. Damn it! Mine could only turn from 1 end to the other but not vice versa!??!?! I was like damn shocked and after that marcus's board could work but mine cant! Damn pissed with the lousy quality stuffs we've been given. I cant believe that the circuit was perfectly fine in the morning and a few hours l8r the whole "equation" takes a turn for the worse. Now I've got the 3 days holiday to figure out what's wrong or is there just simply a loose contact point. =X ARGH!

And I've got to say, flight sim rocks!

Saturday, April 25, 2009

Alright Im not going to rant like what others are doing now about how hard project is. All I've got to say is, though its a little stressful now and that everyone's very uptight and careful with the schedule, the champions train under the toughest conditions. So if we pull out of this well, which Im very sure we will, we will become the winners, not in the eyes of others, but in the minds of ourselves.

So for this semester, I never regretted opting for the IS module Mind Quest for Excellence. From the first lesson, I've acknowledged and see the potential in this module in allowing me to shine to the best of my abilities. To put it in short, it is in line with Hwa Chong Institution's main core belief, which I've always liked, 自强不息. The same belief that pulls the school's students to the very highest heights in whichever field they are in. Contents wise, the lecture said he will teach us methods to push ourselves forward and techniques will be taught to aid us in that thrust.

Modules wise, Im very satisfied with the lecturers allocated to us. All of them are experienced and efficient in delivering lecture materials. Particularly, I think it had not been a wrong choice to retake CAEM 3, where doc ong is very patient and caring to explain every detail of the lesson to me. From the bottom of my heart, I seriously didnt expect such treatment from him, but he was nice enough to try and aid me as much as possible.

Project wise, everyone is very confused as to the weightages and what to expect in the coming weeks. However, we are all taking 1 step at a time and most of us are on track to complete our required work. Though hard, I believe it is just another opportunity towards perfecting our skills and knowledge before we leave the polytechnic.

Lastly, CCA. Avionics club has much activities to come in the new academic year. Not mentioning the newly founded Aerospace Electronics Society as well. But I shall limit my activity limit so that I shall concentrate more on my studies. The second reason is that.. well there's no point in getting so many more CCA points than the bare minimum required so since Im well on track to reach my targetted Gold, its time to slow down the steps and savour every moment of my study and project life.

Now to drift away from the topic of school, I went to Sim Lim tower today with my parents to purchase some tools to help me in project work. Bought a cutter, wire stripper and new breadboard. Went to Sim Lim Square later to on see if there is any suitable joystick, since I have to practise instrument flying for the upcoming tests. And looking at all the simulators and joysticks all around, it just makes me remember the pure joy of flying, the days at the Singapore Youth Flying Club. Had it not been the ultimate "stress and scolding" I got and packed timetable, I would certainly have stayed on. Seriously I loved flying to such an extent that I would want to get a Private Pilot's License in future. It might be just a passing remark made by me now when the flames of flight is burning so strongly in me, but as long as the flame is there, the passion never goes out. Somehow we are blinded by the license that we simply ignore the existence of the fun we derive from being up there in the sky, hovering around an area where congestion is just absent. Tranquility just does not say much in this case.

So lastly, much thanks to God for blessing me with the aid and advises to fight this "war" no matter the outcome.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Oh man, Airworthiness Legislation looks like Air Law =X

Monday, April 20, 2009

Today's first day of school. Erm well cant seem to wanna wake up as usual =P But eventually was like quite early for school. Went to buy books thinking that year 3 students can just purchase it straight off the counter without having to queue. But yeah, not the case =X

Skipped 1 hr of AL lecture to handle the CCA fiesta booth. By lunch time there was a mad stream of ppl coming into the hall.

ANCS tutorial after lunch and mr tang just gave an overview of the whole module. Another 1 hr of lecture and then ANCS practical. Mr ng allowed us to go since there was nth much and most of the practical stuffs is gonna start next week. So yeah home at 3!! =D

Ok gonna watch tv now, since i missed some episodes while being in school today =P

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Wohooo, I only have the TP test blocking my way to my long desired license! Cos I passed my FTT today! Whee! Many around me have failed on their first attempt and it has made me very jumpy ever since so I decided to mug the book. Oh well, hard work pays. Before the FTT, had the theory trial test and within 15 mins of doing it, yeah, 50/50 for it!

Went out of the room feeling more confident and saw this guy from ngee ann who's from the badminton club. Damn fun to talk with him and his friends and we were laughing at his driving progress. Hahaha. So I think its fun as fellow drivers we share our fair bit of nonsense on what we see and do on the roads and there's this guy who said he was super sian-ed for his TP test cos he didnt even mount kerb at all his whole learning process and he mounted it while doing directional change for TP test. And the tester still told him in a very cool manner "eh, mount kerb right?" LOL, the way he showed the tester's facial expression is super hilarious.

So went in for FTT. Erm did my questions and had just a few uncertainties. Checked through once and prayed super hard when clicking the submit button. Whew, God has blessed me! I was super happy to see the word "PASSED" on my screen. Hahahaha, didnt waste my continuous effort in reading the 600 questionaire book.

Now Im trying to wait for the system to release the 30 may TP test date, which is a sat. And having driven mostly on sat, Im waiting to book a early morning slot so I dont have to fret over changing lanes during heavy traffic. That seriously can make me go nuts!

Back to camping at the SSDC website =)

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Finally! Just another step closer to booking the TP test! I passed my last driving school subject, specifically subject 33, with just 16 points of out of max 18 points Im suppossed to accumulate! Hahahahaha. So erm the mistakes were

(1) Not releasing handbrake while moving on slope =X (2)
(2) Road hogging on right lane for a while, well cos I was too smart and I knew where the test route was going so failed to keep left =P (6)
(3) Requiring additional reverse manoeuvre for parallel parking (2)
(4) Fail to use appropriate gear, cos I moving up the Yio Chu Kang slope on gear 3 so instructor debated and said gear 2 could have been better (2)
(5) Fail to use engine brake , which i dont know at where so didnt really realise it =P (2)
(6) Delay in moving off , yar a little slow at stop line (2)

So all in all i guess points 1, 2, 3 and 4 could have been avoided so leaving me with just 4 demerit points. But I was darn lucky the roads were clear when the assessment was being conducted. Couldnt imagine lane changing during heavy traffic and the tester being an asshole by telling me late.

Now left with FTT tomorrow to finish all my preparations before TP test booking. Reading the 600 questionaire like mad but its not a last minute attempt so I think I can clear my FTT tomorrow. =)

Monday, April 13, 2009

OMG, 22 points is quite okay since its my first time having a go at a mock test but 2 immediately failures is @$&#$ Failure to stop at stop line and infringing into yellow box =X Well its not as if I chionged past the stop line the car was just moving at such a slow slow slow creeping speed with brakes applied but well it does not constitute theoratically as a stop. And the yellow box was super wasted too cos I was making a sharp turn out of the parking lot and damn! the stupid box was there. But demerit points were mainly on my inability to drive fast and thus a chain reaction of insufficient acceleration issues.

So therefore, for tomorrow's lesson, Im pretty sure I'll remain at about 70km/h. Hahahaha

Tuesday, April 07, 2009

Oh my, I should have taken a screenshot this afternoon on how many slots the driving centre released for next week. Monday to Sat, 8.15 and 10.30 sessions. Yeah I just could not believe what was in front of me for that moment. Like SOOOOO many sessions being let out into this super competitive market. And I suppossed there were many slots around because they were still for sale when I logged in an hour later. Bought 3 for next week because I anticipate to finish the whole driving syllabus by then. Coupled with the very hopeful mentality of passing my FTT, I predict I will be able to have my TP test soon in about a month's time =) C'mon license!!

Anyway since I'd be driving my auto car soon in less than 12 hours from now, I asked dad to allow me to drive the car in the carpark and it was like so different from driving in the circuit. Somehow, I feel more responsible for my own safety HAHAHAHA. Anyway our family's toyota feels a little weird compared to the school's Honda. Maybe its auto config Im not clear on that but the feeling is totally different. =X

Downloaded FIFA Online 2 and yeah this is what kept me blogging at such an hour on a tuesday morning. Super addictive due to the capability in buying and training players to the best of their potential. Tried Aston Villa, Barcelona and Chelsea. Super super fun!!!

And since FIFA online 2 has made me so awake, I will go read up on my FTT book now. Trial Test this weekend =)

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Today's a brake from 2 days of hectic driving.Erm BRAKE??!?! Yeah, that's how crazy I am over driving now. Another 2 more sessions to go before the closure of this week.

And another 4 more for next. =P Some people find it hard to obtain their slots but for me I attribute to it luck and "hard-work" Yes there certainly is determination involved here. You'd have to constantly refresh the page like twice in every 1 minute?! Yeah so it just tests your patience to the limit when there are no slots in return. But there definitely is some form of reward at the end of the day.

Learning parking and auto car soon! After learning auto i think i'd ask dad to let me practise parking at the lots downstairs so i dont have to book and go to yio chu kang just to practise more parking. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Driving aside, sch's reopening soon =( And here comes final year project. At least my group members are one of the best scorers in the class so i dont have to worry much but yeah, just hearing the word project really drags everything down. =X

Been given the post of Assistant Log head for the new AE student's club but turned it down. I seriously doubt I'd want to hold so many positions and I dont think I am capable of doing so. Besides, my CCA pts are somehow potentially reaching Gold so I'd requested for a downgrade of post to the year 3 sub committee, where I think I can better manage and interact more. Hehehe.

I mean, who wants to become another logistics personnel when you are one in the Avionics club. Reduced workload! =P

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Oh man i want more driving sessions!!! I seriously cant wait for parking and stuffs. But because of the inavailability of slots and the FTT so so so far away, i guess i have to slow down my driving progress in order to avoid paying more than necessary.

But well, im glad im learning faster than the average learner does, pumping in more subjects into each lesson..HAHAHAHAHA

Friday, March 27, 2009

Years on, and FIR's songs still seem as good as ever. =)

Ok, finally a 1 week rest from editting, since the first draft is sent to the publisher and it takes about a week to get back to us. =) No more going to sch for now Whoooo

So its raining now and it just spoils everything. Blurry windscreen when driving in another 1 hour's time, and most probably no soccer after driving =X But from the sounds of it, the rain seems to be stopping. Alright, a sign of hope. =)

Was looking at my training record. After this week i'd had gone through about 8 lessons so far. There's 3 more lined up next week and i guess it should be the same for the week following. So before school reopens i guess im able to finish all the lesson subjects and prepare for the driving test. I'd initially thought that i had to wait till may to kickstart my first lesson, but no, it only took me 2 days after my BTT. Hehehe.

ok the publisher just called me, more stuffs to clarify again. =P

Yes! The race in editting the magazine is coming to its final corner!

The lecturer committee and I decided that we should change tactics from the previous year and stick to editting the articles first before we send to the publisher. This will greatly minimize the number of changes we will need to implement to the first draft! And after a whole week of almost 8-6 in the meeting room, the first draft is born! Woooo, if quickly completed i think i can pump more for driving lessons alr! Weee

Alright, the fact is that im blogging from the meeting room now. Time to start it soon =P

Ahh finally the super heavy stone is being destroyed into bits!

Checked for results today. Erm not that fantastic compared to those around but in my opinion i think its good. My worse case scenario was for 3.3, best is 3.7, since I know PDPR's a module that's quite impossible to get an A. Well, God's gift of 3.6 and a B for PDPR to me was very pleasing. I mean, I was very thankful for it even though there are ppl around who get 3.7 and 3.8. At least the course in NUS and NTU are still open when I calculate my average GPA which is still being maintained =) So 1 semester down, an overall of 2 years over, so 1 more year to go for! I guess next semester's grades are the crucial ones as it will be the finale for my application. The thing to remember is, JUST MAINTAIN 1 MORE TIME! =D

Thank You my Heavenly Father!

Blogging from school now. Haha. Managed to book a slot for driving today and yeah, surfing the net in the library first before going down.

So its been quite busy for me now, especially in the span of these 2 weeks. Gotta help the lecturers with the editting of the magazine articles and they can go on and go debating, reasoning and challenging certain english words up to the extent that we can talk for an hour regarding the structure of 3 sentences? But overall, its good to be kepy busy during the holidays though i dont get to watch my TV shows, get NO time at all to exercise and know when not to book dates for driving. At least I dont laze around home or do something else that just wastes precious time away =)

On the subject of busy, thurs and fri is dedicated to sch, yeah 8-6. And not forgetting fri is results day =X Sat's most likely reserved for driving if there's a slot and to the movies and pool. Sun's a good time to relax and watch TV because come monday the whole school magazine editting cycle starts all over again. But lucky for me my whole holidays isnt going to be spent like that.

Back to refreshing the SSDC webpage again to "EAT" other's slots. HAHAHAHAHA

Ahhh seriously I hate people with low class behaviour and esp. AUNTIES!!

Was buying rice just now when 1 bitch from that category went on to cut my queue. I was waiting for the person to see me and ask me for my order since there was a chaos in front. So theres 2 AUNTIES in fact that were behind me, so lets name them bitch 1 and bitch 2. Seeing I wasnt moving on, bitch1 went to cut my queue, instead of asking me to move forward. I was DAMN PISSED! It was lucky i didnt raise my voice at her or call her nasty hokkien names to shame her in public. Then bitch 2 wanted to cut and i gave her this face of "you dare and you're get a blueberry bun for breakfast tmr". So bitch 2 told me lo lee lo losh and i turned around and told her to mind her own business. She continued and luckily she stopped in time before i told her to "DIAM". Mum was there and she said loudly that bitch1 "might not have eaten for a few meals and mayb is hungry" Yeah, i dont think she's tt rich, mayb thinking whether she can survive her next meal. DAMN PISSED!

I just cant stand people who are these ill mannered, esp aunties who are old enough. The worst is that they disgrace singapore overseas, with their super kiasu and kiasi behaviour sufficiently displayed during the IT fair as noted by many. If that's the case, i'd advise them to drop their citizenship, because they seriously smear our good reputation overseas.

Managed to book driving lessons from people who were trying to sell theirs last minute. So lucky me didnt get to drive 1 month later =)

So ystd was the first lesson. Instructor was v v nice fellar, joked and talked with me to make me feel at place. So starting was def jerky, but he said i was quite a fast learner and brakes were quite smooth!! =) Well i think i did quite average for a beginner, though my stalls were like 9-10 times??

Got the same instructor today. Oh I forgot to mention that ystd he asked me to apply for PDL cos he thinks im ready for the road, which i very fearfully thought I wasnt. So went 1 round in the circuit, and to the roads. Yeah, stalled again but lesser this time, like 2-3 times only? Went on to 4th gear and managed to keep the car under control. Instructor said 4th gear was suppossed to be at the 3 or 5 session but he wanted to let me have a taste of it. Learnt changing up gear and changing down. No probs with that. Er and also checking for oncoming traffic before turning. Hmmmm quite ok too. Only there's once when i didnt know why but suddenly jam-braked and caught the instructor and the car behind me by surprise. I didnt even know what i was doing as well! Seriously sometimes i just control the car without knowing what im doing. This is not pro or smth, just that somehow or rather the mind just does its automatic driving thing whereas you're just not thinking abt driving. hmmmmm

Went to NTU open house after that. Alright the journey is SUPER FAR!!! I just wanna get into NUS and yeah, be MUCH MUCH closer to home. So the open house was alright, just that very few professors could answer my enquires on admission stuffs since i think they're just there either for show or to answer some course academic questions or refill the booklets. =P Went home after that and yeah...

THE JOURNEY WAS SUPER LONG ALSO!

YEAH! Passed my BTT today! Well I know its quite easy and stuff but I was actually counting to see how many mistakes I might potentially make and yes, the magic number is 6. So if those questions were to be wrong and I'd fail because of that, it certainly is 6 dollars NOT WELL SPENT!

Made a block booking of 10 lessons just now and guess what the figures were. $793.94! Yeah, so in less than 10 mins I spend close to 800 dollars. Lucky for me, my god of fortune was beside me allowing me to type in her credit card numbers. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Also booked my FTT, 16th April! Which is about 1 month's time from now.

So now, its just like another race in the SYFC, to beat others to the vehical bookings. Just that SYFC did not have about 70 plus planes like the SSDC has for cars but also proportionally the SYFC doesnt have that many students!

Counting down to 5.30pm, so that I can rush into the system and make my waiting list bookings. Yes, Im just that excited about learning how to drive! =)

I seriously cannot withstand the incessant drilling and hammering outside my house. I just HATE it when someone renovates the house and irritates me. And all this has to happen on a holiday period!!

Im gonna have a house with sound-proofing next time.

Monday, March 09, 2009

First day into the second week of the holidays. Well, last week was dedicated to recuperation from the sun burn as a result of the camp, plus settling some of the school stuffs.

Now, it seems that boredom is settling in, but I'd have a duty to prevent it from doing so. Why? Well, actually, I have been assigned the editor of my department's annual magazine and seeing that lots of planning has to be done, there is just simply no time to slow down. Also, driving lessons are coming up soon, if I pass my BTT by this weds, next week.

Dinner last Sat was spent at bottletree restaurant near Khatib. Drove past there many times but never got to have a meal there. Finally the chance came. Dad suggested eating there to celebrate mum's b'day in advance. Ordered quite alot of stuff, mee goreng, scallop fried rice, butter sotong, cereal prawns, sweet and sour pork ribs, sambal spinach. All for a table of 4. The food was delectable, but what made me like the place more was the environment. Though situated near to the MRT tracks, the surrondings were pleasantly quiet. There was this huge pond whereby kids can ride on the "swan boats" around it, a pool table, prawn and fish catching, play grounds and a private hut for private events.

All in all, a serene place in the midst of a urban estate.

OMG, the A level results this year is simply just.....FANTASTIC.

But it does not spell good news for me since those are my COMPETITORS!

I guess I have to squeeze an even better better BETTER GPA now.
Ah its the A level results today for many of those out there. Well, being in a poly has its advantages too, you dont get the results from 2 years' hard work all in 1 shot, its being separated into 6 semesters. So mathematically it is still possible to jump back onto good grades again. But well, when we gain some, we lose some too =(

I guess at the end of the day the system is rather fair afterall!

Alright back from Avionics camp with a super sunburnt nose =X

First day.
Played games like captain's ball, H2o, those clapping games and stuff. Really fun and it was damn funny to see some people run about and doing things you'd never have imagined them doing. Concentration games was when everyone targetted people like rayson to force them to do a forfeit. Captain's ball was a little hard as satish was towering over me and catching all the balls, resulting in my team's ultimate thrashing. =P Water games was definitely of course about throwing all the water bombs at one another and "splash, whack, bam!" You can be like trying to aim at someone else and then all of a sudden PHAM! someone else whacks you on the back or head. LOL.

Rained later so we headed back and bathed, changed and played cards. Super hungry period before dinner time. Food was lousy cos sch didnt arrange for outdoor catering and insisted on using the "official" school caterer. Since dinner was lousy, everyone wanted to get out and we went to bukit timah plaza to get some tidbits and instant noodles. Continued playing cards and watched movies later on.

Slept at my room and the temp in the room was quite low, so I adjusted it to about 25 degrees before sleeping. After 10 mins, I felt it was too cold to I switched it off. Who knows, halfway through the night, jowell came in, felt that the room was like an oven and decided to switch it on. So all through the morning I was somehow shivering in bed till 6.

Second day
Had amazing race today and erm, loads of funny incidents happened. ren liang's pants split halfway through the race and it then became the butt of all jokes. Super funny cos we were like "eh dunno who dont want to buy a bigger size ar" and " huh his pants size sold out le meh cos I thgt v seldom ppl will buy this size de". LOL rushed and rushed all the way till suntec until everyone was super tired and we all congregated into 1 big single group. Took the bus back and halfway through the journey it rained. Continued with a few stations and then waited at the bus stop for ceyao to ferry all of us 5 at a time back to kismis.

talking about kismis, erm the apartments seemed quite well decorated, sorta like a condo. Toilets had full length mirrors and nice lightings, flooring was of parket material, there was a fridge and walls were well painted. Only 2 things Im not satisfied with, which is there's no TV and no internet! Defeats the purpose of me bringing my laptop, but fortunately I used it to watch videos.

Had dinner and then performance night. All the groups acted out their skits and erm, it was super hilarious as well. Had activities like guessing the song names and the dance party where everyone did some friendship dance. Super lucky nv tio-ed the person i didnt wanna dance with. Whew. It was just that close seh. Went back to the loft and called macs delivery. Watch Galileo and almost everyone slept halfway after watching the first 30 mins. Ate macs after that then slept.

Today!
Packed the stuffs, ate breakfast then had de-brief. My group was like the last of the four but nvm we also had prizes HAHAHAHAH. At least we all had fun. Went to play pool at bukit timah plaza and ate KFC while talking. Home after that.

Hmmm.. so all in all the camp was enjoyable but I think there are areas which can be improved on. It was good bonding together. =)

So right now, its time to catch back on the lost hours of sleep =D

Going for avionics camp tomorrow and dreading it like nth on earth.

Remb those days when I had NP camp and had some leadership position at some point of the time during the camp. That was more fun than being a GL now in this coming camp. NP camp has like super COOL night activities that I think no club in Ngee Ann has the capability to organise due to strict rules and blah blah blah.

Firstly, the camp's people are all quite familar to me so no fun in playing any ice-breakers. Then other than the water revolving games which all just results to throwing the water bombs at one another, nth else. Oh and amazing race too. Cant blame the committee, im sure they will have run out of ideas as to what to plan for us =X

Add all these to Ngee Ann's strict rules of no playing basketball at night which I think is actrocious. Exams are over, its a sat, so I can safely assume most of the ang-moh lecturers will be out partying at zouk or smth, since there's a R.S.V.P event there tmr. China students will be like eating prata or going ard watching movies or eating at KAP Macs. the security guard will be either listening to his radio or taking a short nap. So who to disturb? Ourselves? Seriously all work and no play makes someone just damn dumb and dull. Its not as if we're going to play until like 11pm or smth?! No much brain power is utilized in this case.

Ahh whatever im just gonna bring lappy to the camp and without a TV or comp and no good activities I'll just like "nua" down there. =P

Thursday, February 26, 2009

Wow the exams are over. Okay I just cant wait for 20th March to know the results so I can settle my heart down and really enjoy the rest of the 1 month of the holidays. =) Hopefully its a GPA 3.6 and above, so I can maintain my overall average GPA =D

With the end of the exams means that Im gonna start on many things that I have never taken initiative to start off in my life, of which 1 is due to the age limit =)

The list of activities include: DRIVING! Super tough training to buff up my fitness, running/swimming everyday coupled with the relevant stationary trainings. Im aiming for a NAPFA Silver standard by June =D Reading all my books on the shelf that I'd long to but have put off due to exams. Read through project materials to better know the topic's scope and field of coverage. Fixing the avionics club's planes and fix mine if the financial capability is possible. Meet up with ppl like Leslie, cycling at east coast with marcus, swimming and movies and pool with joel. Looking for the best watch in the Casio Edifice series to purchase. Pack up my room. go for camp. Chasing the school to return my $ for peer tutoring which they OWED for HALF A YEAR. Counting how much more CCA pts I need to be able to get my Gold and what activites can I plan to charge up the points as fast as possible. Go to NUS and SMU's open houses. Wah sucha long list. =P

Anyway I was super happy that the school gave 3 L pts for being the class rep. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I initially thought that only 2 was to be given but its 3. It certainly beats going to avionics camp and being the grp leader cos I only get 2 L pts for that. Somemore being the class rep is just a title in name, nth much to be done.

Alright, last but not least, thanks to the Lord for his blessings over these few days during my tense examinations period. Amen.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Ahh this is just a cruel period to endure. In another 24 hours from now I'd be at the classroom taking my last paper for this semester. So as I'd put on my Facebook profile, to give it all my best. But somehow the temptation of what's to come after 4pm tomorrow really distracts me from all top priority stuffs present in front of me. Not that I'd go do smth else but daydreaming about it is just bad enough. =(

Cant wait till the moment the teacher says "pens down". Of course I wont get so excited till I'd tear away my notes or like what many would like to put it across as, "burn my books away.." Too bad, I still need to refer to them for my last semester's project design.

Alright to DCNT again =)

Saturday, February 21, 2009

After revising the last few chapters of my MPI module, I felt that I'd understood most of what the teacher taught, partly because I pay at least 80% of attention in class and I do know my work. But seeing how hard the common tests qns were, I felt insecure. Seriously, it is such an irony to have revised and gone through all of your work, knowing your tutorial qns and yet not know how to tackle situational based exam qns. Perhaps I have alr answered my question, situational based. Hmmmm..

Played this song, Right Here Waiting this evening continuously for only God knows how many times. Oldies do bring out reflective "hormones" and in particular, I think this song is soothing and to a certain extent, has calming and emotional effects.

Browsed through Facebook while the song was playing and made an effort to take a deeper look into each and every one of my friend's profile pages, seeing how they were doing now in this stage of their life and every page I visited I realised a new fact about that certain person. Facts that were never obvious or made-known to me during the interaction I had with him/her. Refreshing experience indeed. Good to know that many of them are doing well now and most are anxiously awaiting the deciding factor, their A level results. Well then, only the Lord knows.

Friday, February 20, 2009

Ah, let me take a break from blogging about myself and go further into global issues. No, it concerns all of us, everyone who is involved in the economic cycle.

Recently, the media has been giving negative comments and job cuts are aplenty. Its either doing away with excess human resources in the company or reducing their pay. Thus, the outlook for the 2009 economy doesnt seem bright enough. To me, I feel that this is just a vicious cycle. The more negative the outlook, the more unwilling are people to spend. This just goes on and on until a day whereby some rich fella cant take it anymore and decides to spulrge/pump real solid funds into the crisis-hit economy. Only then will things take a turn for the better.

Well, if you were to question me on the biggest factor contributing to the financial disaster, I'd attribute it something that even religion was warned us from coming close to. It has 5 alphabets and its spelt like this, G-R-E-E-D. Yes, greed was the culprit for all the chaos. Financial institutions seriously do not have a good estimate of what they're doing and its just poor financial investment and planning. Yes, sometimes even the giants fall. So its never good to be arrogant for failure is inevitable in every stage of life. Everyone wants more and more money, up to the fact that responsibility doesnt come into the values equation and results in things getting way out of hand. Worst of all, they think that they're still loaded with funds and assests. The banks' high interest rates are killing many up till the point whereby loaners cant handle it and opt for bankruptcy instead. The turning point is then reached and bad debts accumulate. The rest of the story is known by many who are far more financially well-read than me. Seriously, its a big sin.

Well I guess all we can do now is that someone can reverse this evil cycle and everyone will find Love and Peace in the Lord in this crisis.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

The first battle starts tomorrow. And its the worst one.

Monday, February 16, 2009

The current exams are seriously the most stressful ones in my entire poly life. Well maybe last semester's 4 exams at a go might top the record but this time's difficulty level makes it a totally different "game arena". Add that to really tough double and triple integration for diploma plus and that is what keeps me damn irritated and agitated these few days. But of course, its just self-kept, i dont blow at anyone for no reason. =)

I cant help but to think of the activities after the holidays but somehow or rather that "perfect" dream has to be awaken by the reminder for completing my chapters for revision on time.

The only thing Im glad for during this period of difficulty is God's unending love and blessings. Its evident that He is doing all He can to relieve whatever toughness I encounter. Testimonials aplenty, but it just speaks 1 thing about the Lord, He never forsakes. I know He will pull me through, and I will accept whatever is given to me, because I understand He does what is best for me. I love You Lord!

Phl 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

John 3:15 -18 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

情人节到了, 男方问女方喜欢什么花, 女方回答说

女:我喜欢两种花。

男:什么花呀?

女:有钱花,随便花!

男:哇,你真美!

女:真的吗??

男:对阿,想得美!

JOKE!

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Changed my blog skin and I think it looks a lot neater and simple now. Dont be mistaken for I only took 15 minutes to do so. Afterall you have to relax sometimes during the tense examination periods.

But now its seriously a very unusual and worrying period, yeah just right after today. It had indeed been a confusing and guilt ridden group selection process. Even though I had what I wished for more, it seems that disappointment was etched in the hearts of others. Sometimes its just such a sad fact of life that we cannot possess the best of both worlds. Time would then pop up to serve as a heart wrenching reminder to make a quick decision. However, the best solution would be to minimize as much damage as possible. Looking ahead shall then be the best temporary psychological idea to hold on to.

The school term is ending fast and the unbelievable fact that year 3 is approaching soon struck me. The few months back felt like the starting of year 2 and even faster than the blink of an eye is year 3 knocking on my reluctant doors. The unimaginable fact would be that army is round the corner and university life(if possible) is beginning soon. That would then mark the end of the chapter in my teenage life and the growing of a young adult would soon begin. As teenagers, we aspire to do what the adults are achieving, like driving a car, going on world tours, playing mahjong, holding PDAs and stuffs. But what the adults are thinking is vice versa. I guess the best thing to do now is to savour every moment of our youth and achieve whatever is possible before we crash-land onto the gruelling and appearance decieving working platform.

But to retract my thinking kite before it sails too far off into the skies, I guess I had better come down to current reality and prepare for my future.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

So now here is the final battle of year 2.

And I just finished my AS test and PDPR board. At first, it seemed impossible to complete the PDPR board because of the complexity in the wiring. But I managed to wire all of them up. However, the only thing is that the MOD 6 section was not able to work despite intense troubleshooting. Well, the teacher said that my wiring was quite alright and that the MOD 6 was only 1 section of the whole thing so it should be fine.

AS test was fairly alright except I did a 1 mark qn wrongly. Well, I had this strong feeling in me, God was talking to me to pick that answer that I had written and not to doubt it. No, its not some gambler's instinct, it really felt like God talking to me. But in the end, I sorta asked marcus what was the answer and he said C so I changed the answer. It was only at the end of the paper that I realised we had different papers. Oh well.

Now, its just next thur for CAEM, which I dont think I will do well, next next tues for MPI and next next thurs for DCNT. I think daily revision is really useful, for it makes the last minute revision more effective. Somehow the mind is in a state whereby it finds its "long lost friends" and suddenyly recognises them. But the only opportunity cost would be a lack of sleep. If I can get good results by sacrificing 2 hs of sleep everyday for 2 weeks, why not? The only thing I hope to come true is the good results.

Thinking of what to do over the hols and there's really much to do. Driving, the main activity. Going to sch to do stock take for avionics. Running, swimming and training for NAPFA. Continue reading my books. Playing the keyboard that is covered with thick coatings of dust =X Go to the various uni's open houses. Shopping for my new watch =) Playing more pool and catch a few good movies. Fix the new brushless motor for my plane. Yeah and the list goes on and on.

But the main thing of course, is to give thanks to God everyday. =)

Wednesday, February 04, 2009

Tough tough decision to make. It seems that I'd have to muster all courage and take 1 step at a time to reach my ultimate goal. I have in mind how to execute the plan, now all that lies in await is the opportunity and golden time to strike. I'd have no choice but to resort to this, afterall, I cant suffer for the sins of the rest.

Today God has made me realise many things, to awake me from the bubble I was roaming it. He took me on a flight out of my comfort zone and showed me the things beyond that boundary. And, I found out that everyone needs God at 1 point in time of their lives. He showed my how the cold hard truth could become and how scary it will be. When things get out of control, I guess I will just have to pray that God will do what He knows is best for me. Afterall sometimes, man proposes, heaven disposes.

Work has been increasing and never dropping. An increasing number of tests recently really pushed everyone off their limits. There are some who are taking it in their stride, while others alike me are slugging it off to squeeze every nano bit of information into this wonderful mind of ours. Do not be mistaken for I am not rushing at the eleventh hour. Its just a daily preparation to gear up for the major exams. Calculating from past grades, it seems I'd have to maintain them in order for entry into the teritary institutions.

However, no matter how busy life is, there is still a moment to de-stress. Fortunately, a good variety of television programmes are on the screen at least for this whole month. So I hope that these viewing sessions would prove good for relaxing the tense mind.

Somehow, I dont seem like myself today. But to put it in another way, this is my new self.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Its so fast. A few weeks back then, it was just the talk and shopping about the lunar new year. Right now, the first 4 days are going to be over soon.

The first 2 days of CNY were spent in the exact the same fashion as last year. Just that this year, I could feel more connected to the different families and everyone became more lively and bonded. Noy that we were on super bad terms or ignoring each other, just that we dont see each other often and therefore do not have much topics to talk about. This year, its different and Im glad to see everyone more concerned about one another.

Of course, mahjong was played. I mean, CNY is the best excuse to have some small gambles. Haha. But my losses were merely contained to a few dollars so its alright. =)

Back to school now and work is seriously piling in. PDPR board to complete. Though I feel that my board is more presentable than the rest of the others in the class, Im super afraid that I might lagg behind the rest and this could spell worse. PDPR test is coming up soon and even though I know how to handle it, I will still feel shaky and nervous on that day. HMFR and AS looming nearer and soon everything will be strewn onto us. Then hols! Not sure whether to learn driving or to look for a job during the hols. Hmmmmm....

Now, if you were to read the above para Im sure many of you will be thinking, "if you're so busy, go do your work then! why blog" Well, its because, the answer is contained in this last para.

Recently, I have heard and seen many of those around me having close encounters with death, or have closed ones dead. Seriously, it just saddens me. In the new year with the burden of a financial crisis, all of those affected have still to be burdened with the saddle of someone close leaving them. In this world, how many of us are truely, spritually happy? Or are all of us busy chasing glory, being jealous, maintaining our pride? Its all these facades that we have in us which blocks us from attaining true spritual freedom. From all these incidents that are happening around me, I learnt something, which is to forgive, for you never know what will happen to the person you have a grudge on.

Sometimes I feel, God is planning every stage of my life to allow me to get to know more about Him and about what is going through in my life. His words make me feel how small and insignificant I am. Take for instance, out of the 2 services I went, they were the 2 that I feel is the most important in human life. One of which is forgiving. When I think about Jesus telling Peter to forgive his brother 77 times, it just gives me another reason to cool down and think about things rationally. God talks, God speaks, God makes things happen. Amen.

Busy busy week ahead!

Well just as busy as my parents are with the CNY, Im damn busy with schoolwork. Yet to complete my HMFR report which is due this friday but Im confident it will be done in a few days time. Calculated today as to how many weeks are there to the exams and the cruel answer is 3 weeks, if I exclude this week. So with next week sorta reserved for CNY, the hard truth is that there's only 14 solid days left. So I gotta start on revision real soon. I dont want my average GPA to fall. =P I think I should be able to score a 3.6-3.7 this semester =) Oh before I forget, there's AS presentation to do. SIANZ!

Reached home at 8 today. Well cos me and marcus took bus 74e and thinking that it would bring us faster to our destinations, it instead took longer. The bus went onto the expressway and damn, caught in a jam. If expressways are meant to ease the flow of traffic, how come there still can be a jam on it. So my take on it is that, its just a psycological "trick". People get bluffed onto the fact that the expressway would certainly be much faster than the ordinary roads so all of them rush onto it, thus causing a HUGE jam. Its been like 3-4 times that I was caught in a jam on the PIE. Im NEVER ever gonna take an express bus again.

Well but partly 1 of the reasons that we were late was that me and marcus wanted to have an overview of the track and field training. Erm, he insisted on wanting to meet the president so I accompanied him then. Saw the president, quite friendly chap and chatted for awhile. Loads of people on the track for the various CCAs, canoepolo, taekwondo, rugby, soccer, volleyball, netball and NAPFA. Track training for Ngee Ann was abt the same as that of those I'd done before, the striding, bounding, stretching and stuff. Looks quite tempting to join track again but Im gonna wait for marcus's opinion first when he goes down for the training on weds. =)

So as for now, im gonna continue with my swimming and running. =D

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

But you may ask, who is Love?

So just like algebra, we substitute it with another perfect Constant on the other end of the equation.

And that being

God is Love.

Fullstop. =)

Yeah the weekends are finally here! Woo..time to ....STUDY. Yeah I think what my DCNT lecturer said was somehow.........right? Yeah he was asking us if we have revised for our exams, and some of us said that it was still a little tiny wee bit too early. But after he explained, I think it makes sense to start early because the rest of the modules will be rushing to complete their syllabus and by then it will be too cramped. So it pays to sit at the front. Though the teacher is a little "strange", he does give tips to those at the front! Well at least I know what is coming out for this labtest. Hahahahaha.

Saw the news on Catholic High. Super imba results. Haha. Bro said last few years were imba too, but this year slightly imba, 9.86 for average L1R5. Then news keep reporting on them. But I think its due mostly to the teaching force there and the principle that's super good in leading the school onto the right path I guess =X See principals DO make a difference.

Weighed myself and realised I lost some weight! Well a little but its a good start. Seems like all the swimming and running is showing some results! And marcus recently prompted me to join track as a leisure CCA. Well I'd LOVE to but somehow Im afraid that with my bulky figure I might not have the old running power i'd used to have =( But nvm, its fine time to train again. =)

Well today was a long long day.

Skipped lecture in the morning so that I could sleep longer. Anyway the CAEM lecture is just damn boring and I'd learnt NTH at all from it. =P Then while sleeping mel tan sms-ed me to tell the teacher that he couldnt take it any longer and wants to drop the module. I replied saying I sleeping. =)

Went to sch to exercise at 10 with marcus. Jogged round the track for 3 rounds before going to play soccer at the bball court. Security guard was damn inflexible. Told us that we couldnt use the field to play. Like the sch is damn dumb lar, build a SYNTHETIC field that is new, and dont let the students play? Whatsmore the field was EMPTY! Waste of resources I'd say.

Lessons started at 12 and PDPR was quite fun. Finally knew how to strip the wire using the sch's wire stripper since my "more higher efficient" wire stripper dad gave me was spoilt. Did up the remaining parts left from the last session and Im sure by this week I can wrap up the MOD 6 section =D

Marcus's grandfather passed away so I followed him to the funeral wake. Pray for his grandfather people, bless that he will safely be in the arms of God. We went to his house first to get some stuffs before going down. Now I know why marcus is 5-10 minutes late most of the time. The bus ride is just soooooo sooooo far and the journey is longgg.. Imagine travelling all the way from upper East Coast road to Bukit Timah. Woahhhh... Anyway, his house was quite nice, old private apartment. Interior was comparable to a 5 room flat. But uber messy, even he admits it too. Hahahaha. But his dad owns load and loads of DVDs and they have like 5 bikes?! Took the photo printer and went down to the funeral wake at Kallang.

Saw mum's ex colleague Auntie Linda. She's marcus aunt and also my pri sch friend's mum! Yeah and they said I changed, of course which means grow fatter le =) Hey I mean its not a good thing so yeah =( Prayed for his grandfather and only sat for a while before going home.

Woo gonna watch red cliff II tomorrow *)

Finished the fourth day of school and so far so good!

Passed my IS alr! Which is quite expected cos mum said she will go down to sch to complain if I didnt pass =X Well cos the adults present on tt day during the event see no reason for the teacher to fail us, since he left the place after only 5 minutes. Hahahaha. Sooo happy to have passed it. Finally weds its just 10-12 and home after tt!

Been exercising alot recently. Mon was running, tues was running too. Ystd was swimming. Today was running again. And nonetheless to make the week complete it will AGAIN be running tomorrow =) All of these daily exercising is coupled with loads of push-ups, crunches, jumping jacks. So I hope to lose some weight soon =D

Anyway, I realised that I keep having a habit to visit the RC hobby sites these few days. Its a must-see daily even though I kw mentally they wont update the page much. Ahhh...and I guess I have to make a trip down this week to buy the brushless motor and epoxy. Then I decided.......I will buy a plane after CNY! Cos I dont want foam ones, I want the Balsa wood ones! More ex, but better, stronger and nicer. =) Calculating the cost, the body would cost about 200, 3 servos about 100, ESC, brushless motor and propellor about 120. So total its about 400, round it up to 450. Therefore I need the stuff inside the red packet. Hehehe. the higher the value the better. Get it.

Avionics is the most expensive CCA in ngee ann I can conclude. Not because we receive enormous fundings, but the stuff is too ex for us to handle =P

First day of school!

Well it all kickstarted with a cancelled practical session which pissed me totally cos I woke up early to come to sch and attend......?#$#$^&*

MPI lecture next and lecturer started telling us how bad all of us did for the CTs and blah blah blah. Lucky for me I wasnt in for retest which means I passed so I dont have to worry much.

Lunch was at Bukit Timah Plaza's KFC and pool later on. Hahaha, my pool improved quite a fair bit and even marcus was quite surprised by it. Hmmmm...looks like an occasional mix of slow balls do help afterall. But I lost to marcus TWICE by hitting both the black and white ball in. And both were simple straight shots. =(

So after lunch was DCNT tutorial. Which means giving back of the CT papers. Crap. Marcus got 78, I got 76. He won me by 2 again. But this time Im proud to say I only made a 2 mark careless mistake. And anyway since the paper was out of 50, so the differences naturally mutiplied by 2 when upon 100 marks. The main thing was, both of us were the only 2 to be 70 and above in the class. We were seriously shocked cos the paper seemed quite okay except for a few theory qns. So we didnt expect the class to do so badly =X Seems like this CT is quite scary.

Er so Im quite determined this term to work doubly hard and score much much better for the exams. I seriously wanna maintain my average GPA of at least 3.7 so that I can enter uni. Well, I MUST!

Oh and tmr is tues which means its exercise day! Gonna run 4km at the track tmr. Hehehe. And talking abt exercising, I really miss soccer alot. Havent played in AGES......

Ok gonna read now. Byee

School's starting tomorrow!

Well it feels kinda wierd to start sch. As in for the past 3 weeks its a super nice thing to laze ard at home, read, watch TV, go out, eat, pool, and so many many more things. But starting school's nice as well, with open house this week, CTs coming back, and getting to see the rest. But I think the main reason I still feel better about it is because CNY is coming. Yup, everyone's so looking forward to those chain of hols and celebrations and food and most important of all.........MONEY! Money Money Money! =)

Spent ystd evening at the grass patch near the lorong 1 market flying the plane. Finally I know how to take off the RC plane! But it didnt seem long enough before incidents happen. The plane took off but I keep having this fear that it might go out of control blah blah blah so I crazily closed the throttle and the whole plane practically dipped all the way down ending with a "piak". The wing came off =P But luckily its a styrofoam plane so I can try to use epoxy to stick it back. It just gives me 1 more reason to buy another brand new plane =)

Ate dinner at the market there and went off to Chinatown! Yeah super crowded but pathetically I couldnt even find 1 tin of pineapple tarts! Yeah I was craving for them but couldnt find any. I mean so many stores and not 1 store sells them? Mayb its still too early to sell these perishable goods. Econs =) Got damn bored so we drove to TPY central to get my bro's new phone. W910i. Not really v new but the features were quite fine. And its for $0 value so quite worth it. Mum saw it and went to change it today too. However, my family isnt too crazy about phones unlike others who change their handsets every 6 months.

Had a hair cut in the afternoon and it just feels so cooling! I love hair cuts and short hair. =D

Had a game of mahjong just now and I LOST again. Wah sian I keep losing everytime but I've learnt my "lessons" and I now know how to play better, since my parents are "pros". hehehehe.

Haiz, dropped my black screw on my brown coloured stairs. OMG so Im gonna spend my time finding it now. Nites everyone! =(

What a great and interesting way to kickstart the New Year. First and foremost, Happy 2009 everyone! =)

So, now I shall let you in on what happened on the 31st of December.

Woke up in the morning and played bball at the nearby bball court. Ages since I last shot a ball. Then went home and packed some stuff before going to grandma's place to have lunch. Took a peek at my cousins doing the game quiz which we were going to play in the night. Played the Wii while waiting for Bro to come back from sch then we went to TPY central to have a game of pool. It was just so crowded, mostly ppl who had a half-day off from work or the old uncles. It was 4.30pm by then when we went off the collect the b'day cake at Prima Deli and I rushed to Popular to get my reserved book, "How Starbucks saved my life". Bought some Famous Amos cookies on the way and got home before 5.15. Without much delay, packed all the BBQ stuffs in dad's car then off to my auntie's place.

Started the fire and bbq-ed the chicken wings first. Aunt's house had this countdown party going on and it was sorta fun. There were clowns, "ah guas" singing, karoke comp, games, costume comp. So sat there eating the stuff while having a good view of everything. Dosed the fire at about 9 plus then went upstairs to bath, settle down and we started the game! Its a small replica of those HK game shows and everyone enjoyed themselves alot. Even the maids got to play. 5 minutes to 12 and we proceeded to the living room to do the countdown. At 12 exactly, we blew the whistles and party poopers were "poop-ed" Took out the b'day cake since it was my grandma and aunt's b'day. So nice to have it on 1st Jan. Ate the cakes and continued with the games till 3 plus in the morning. Of course the uncles and dad played mahjong otherwise they'd suffered from extreme boredom. By the time we got home and was ready for bed, it was alr 4am.

All in all, it was a good New Year celebration.

Now, to welcome in a New Year also means to reflect on the year that passed and to set priorities right for the coming one.

I felt that God really showered me with His blessings in 2008, of course some unknowingly to me. I could sense that He will provide help for me when Im in trouble and He would somehow talk to me in my heart to advice me on certain stuffs. Im grateful to You my Lord for walking my journey hand-in-hand with me. Im not saying this just because I was blessed with the right solutions at the right time. God is really there. He has a greater purpose for ALL of us. Remember, greater purpose. What you think you deserve does not reflect what God should do for you. He does what is best.

So now to usher in the New Year with resolutions. Its a good way to set stuffs right. Well now, I hope I can learn more about the Gospel and about God, to know his teachings and apply it in my life. To appreciate everything He has done for me. Hmmmm....and also I hope to be more patient and understanding because I always seem to run out on both of these. Erm... to read more (Yeah I love reading now! =D) Be more fit (Gosh, time for a fitness plan) Push my academic studies from great to greater heights. And last but not least, to own another 2 more RC aircrafts. =P Well actually I alr have a plan to purchase 1 more aircraft body before CNY so it just means almost 1 WHOLE year for me to purchase another 1 more =)

Lucky for me, Ngee Ann is kind enough to start sch on a monday. But then again, for those starting sch tmr, it may not be a bad thing, since its Fri and everyone would be looking forward to the weekends. A good time to do another 1 more last min recharge before serious work kicks in.

Blah blah blah, Im off to catch my drama now. =P
