For me to stay up till the wee hours of the morning only means 1 thing, to witness Manchester United walking away with the UEFA Champions League league trophy. I hope I dont end up in disappointment.

I have alr paid my price of only sleeping 1 hour later on before I embark on 8-6 sch journey. So are you going to make my night worth Manchester United?

Im just so so afraid and nervous. Its my Traffic Police test next tues. =P

Ok now that my group accelerated our process to finish etching and with a super driller like me, we managed to start on our PCB board at 9am today =)

But with this comes another worry, which is the possibility of our PCB board not working =X

I brought the PCB board home to do and try perfecting the solder points because I really want to give my all for this project. This is my last push for my hard work over the last 2 years and I dont want this semester to pull my hard-maintained efforts down. I will make sure my soldering is to the best of my abilities, with that being desoldering and soldering it again because it does help some bit.

So tomorrow's my first driving revision lesson after not driving for 5 weeks and I hope to be able to recall everything fast. Because after tomorrow it will just mean another 3 more lessons before the driving test and I do not want to spend money and time on trying for it again so its just gonna be 1 good shot at it and DONE!

Feeling a little muscle strain these few days due to the increase in number of the push-ups and stretching I've been doing. I have a feeling NAPFA's round the corner and its certainly better to be more disciplined to train first before being told NAPFA's coming =D Well cos Im aiming for a gold or at least a silver. HAHAHA

Rest, sleep, then driving!!!! in another 10 hours!

Despite all the troubleshooting and redo-ing of PCB board, feeling down and sian-ed when I know something's gone wrong with the board, I never fail to find a way out of it. Perhaps God's just supplying me with all the experience I need in this field. Serious, just when I really thought it was just going to be over or I had to do it all over again, God gave me this new lease of hope and gets me start moving all over again. =)

Now workload is really reaching the peak and Im sad to say its seriosly taking its toll on me =( I cant get to watch my favourite 9pm show on channel 55 which is very very SUSPENSEFUL and very nice to watch. You know it when my dad gave my bro 10 dollars to walk to my grandma's place to get the dvd cos he just had to see the outcome of the next episode. Hahahahaha. And since the master bedroom's dvd player somehow cant play those *erherm* dvds and the 1 downstairs's spoilt for so long, they all just went into my room to watch the next episode with the tv right in front of me and Im doing my FCS report!!!!! Luckily, there was much suspense in the air so the whole room was silent with the exception of the audio from the TV.

Tmr's WISP HEROS seminar and I think there's this ex chief of army or armed forces coming down to speak to us. =P The seminar's gonna last 2 hs till 7.30pm and I seriously hope its a fruitful 2 hours cos I hate wasting time in school listening to nonsense. But I doubt it would be. Well, I hope its not. =D

So I've a feeling NAPFA's round the corner thus I decided to elevate my exercises to another level. I dont have much time to spare after school which is like 7 plus at night by the time I get home. So I've decided to run in the wee hours of the morning! Like at 6am to 6.30am.Haha. I tried it for the first time today and its kinda hot and humid though many would think that the morning air is cool and fresh. Its certainly fresh, but not cool though. I had much sweat on me after my run and I had to cool down for a longer time than usual. =P

Im gonna have to call some lecturers tmr, cos my CCA pts are NOT IN!

Lastly, the graduation ceremony.

Kenny, Teo Huei, Sherman and I were ushers. So it just means we had to wear blazers and it was just so so so hot.
Roger's looking on to see what's going on with the 4 "handsomes" HAHAHAHA
With the white shirt and tie. =)

Now with the blazers. Muhahaha

Location of grad ceremony at convention centre. Can seat about 500-700 easily

Oh man, my tie wasnt straight. =P

With the only graduate we knew . Hahahaha

Oh so its like once in a lifetime to wear a Ngee Ann blazer cos not many events need it. So we really took photos of ourselves for memory's sake. Hahahahah..
Yup the next post is about my division magazine. I mean yes, as the chief editor and after seeing it through so many changes and going through rounds and rounds of checking, the final product is out! I realised yeah, it may be about CCA points ultimately, but I learnt alot from this. Editting, appropriate use of words, basic photography skills, how to edit photos and much more!

So let me take you through this,

Contents Page

Various clubs in the ECE divsion and yeah, that in the middle of the left page is the Avionics club!

Face for ALL the project groups, which is estimated to be at least close to 100! It is such a tiring job, having to match the faces with the names and recheck many times over to ensure it is error free!

Now, the magazine team!!

Yup, that's the chief editor in the centre..*HINT HINT

My write-up. Decided not to copy the previous year's since Im UNIQUE so I'd got to write my own piece. =)
Finally so, 3 whole weeks of 8-6 meetings in school produced this. Though the photos werent clear due to their original format being sent to the editting team being quite pixelated, I guess the rest of the magazine was quite alright. The cover page drew the most positive comments, since Richard is the best technology student this year, doing ECE proud.
Ok since Im quite unclear about blogger's photo posting procedures, Im gonna have 3 separate posts for the 3 different events that happened to me over the past week.

First up, the Ubin cycling trip!

Kenny, Meiyi, Teo Huei, Caine, Jen Kiat, Satish and I went to ubin for cycling! Suppossed to be a trip for the year 1s and in the end, only we, the committee members went =( Pure fun. Hahaha.

Met at Lavender MRT before taking bus 2 to Changi Jetty. Going to Ubin reminds me of the old NP days when we would be going there for ATC and for me, OBS.

On the boat to UbinCaine acting cool! Hahaha
Reached our destination!!
8 Storeys high! Whooo

Teo Huei pushing his bike when he was suppossed to be behind me?!?!

Taking a photo at the quarry with Jen Kiat up to his usual Wushu antics

Highest point in Ubin and I looked quite frustrated cos there's seriously lots of ants crawling ard my legs!!!
Ok this was certainly fun and erm yup, I was the medic for the day since I brought my first aid kit =P Except for Kenny scraping a little of his knee cap, we had much enjoyment through the whole journey. Visited many places and for me it relieved the memories I had of Ubin since I last stepped in 3 years back. Right now, I have Alex and Marcus asking me to bring them there. So it just means, Ubin 1 more time!!!! =) Well I wont mind.

I am feeling so compelled to blog now, because I have seen someone's effort being recognised after 18 years.

If you would read today, 12th May 2009's The Straits Times article at page A9, you would see this doctor with a warm smile. To many out there he might be unfamiliar to you but for me, he is sort of my family's main doctor for almost 12 years and counting.

I totally agree with the article's content. Dr Koh seriously never overcharges and in good times and bad, it still remains the same. Sometimes he never even charges mum for some minor consultation which other doctors in many clinics would have. No this is not a sweeping statement, I have experienced it myself. For the past 12 years, we can safely rely on his medicine. Whatever other doctors give, he prescribes the same, but at a much lesser cost for sure.

Well I am not siding him because he charges much lesser than other clinics out there, but he really is a doctor with the spirit of one in him. We dont expect landslide cheap rates, but at the very least we hope to be charged reasonably. And at the current downturn, he could have still charged the same as per normal, but he felt for those suffering out there. And I think this just amplifies the good of the religion and to me I feel that he has brought honour in the name of God. Seldom do we see such cases of good doctors around who would lend a helping hand and as what he said,

"As a doctor, I want to be one who can hopefully make them well - but definitely not make them poor"

Im in awe of this sentence.

Many see being in the medical field as a gateway to the 5Cs. Well though Dr Koh drives a Volvo and lives in a semi-D, Im perfectly fine with it! Afterall, nobody said a doctor must be those like we always see in the movies, wearing ragged clothes, carrying a backpack and moving around treating patients. So long as he does the right thing a doctor should be doing according to conscience. Then again people say how do you measure conscience, well, when you were born, God had already etched the answer deep down in your heart. =)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling - 1 Peter 4:8-9

YES my board CAN WORK!!!!!!

WOOOOO!!!!!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!

Monday, May 04, 2009

Oh shucks man this feeling is really terrible..My breadboard seriously doesnt wanna work now. I mean, while I was testing it last fri it worked fine and then now, it just cant turn the motor the other direction! Damn!

Gotta go troubleshoot it now. ARGH!!!

Friday, May 01, 2009

Well I dont need a fortune teller to inform me that year 3 is busy. From the list of activites that I have stored at the back of my head, I can vaguely remb some impt ones like....

(1) ECE magazine's final stage
(2) Project PCB design and breadboarding
(3) revision for quizzes coming up
(4) microsoft flight simulator flying test
(5) ubin cycling trip for aerospace electronics society (whooo)
(6) probably peer tutoring on thurs from 5-6
(7) rockwell collins industrial visit trip near june

Yeah so that's some of the more important ones. There are also minute activities that I might not have recalled but they are just as significant as well. And not to mention my driving test coming up soon in about a few weeks times =)

So ystd was doing breadboarding and half-way to school at around HCI's stop, I realised I forgotten to bring my breadboard!! So I had to call mum to bring it down to school for me. Then while testing the breadboard, the lousy quality potentiometer had smoke coming out of the casing so I immd shut off the power supply. Tested again a few minutes later and I mangaed to make the motor turn as I like!! Well that's not a happy conclusion if you'd read on. So went to lunch at KAP and flight sim-ed from 1-3. Heard from marcus his board couldn't work after lunch so I went on to try mine too to see if there's anything wrong as well. Damn it! Mine could only turn from 1 end to the other but not vice versa!??!?! I was like damn shocked and after that marcus's board could work but mine cant! Damn pissed with the lousy quality stuffs we've been given. I cant believe that the circuit was perfectly fine in the morning and a few hours l8r the whole "equation" takes a turn for the worse. Now I've got the 3 days holiday to figure out what's wrong or is there just simply a loose contact point. =X ARGH!

And I've got to say, flight sim rocks!
