Happy New Year!! =)
Ok this is what I call cultural difference. =D lol.
This is the shop where we ate the xiao-long bao! Super nice. The filling is not the meat kind, its crab eggs! Shlurp shlurp yum yum!
Okay this is the night view of some small river in suzhou. It looks so much nicer than Clarke Quay. But if you want night views that are better than Clarke Quay, hold on to the later part of this post, you'll be amazed. =)
OUR BOAT RIDE! Haha
Im sure some of you heard of this place called Xi-hu. So yeah this is a small little part of the lake. Looks quite nice as a scenic desktop background. Lol.
The "wishes" ppl hang when they visit Wan-Song-Shu-Yuan.
At the top of some bridge that crosses the Chang-Jiang. Said to be the pride of all Chinese in the past when the western powers declined to provide us help to build the bridge. And you're right, its SUPER COLD up there.
This is the statue of some lady in the past (oops I forgot her name =P). Had to huddle across a few steep stones to get to tt particular stone in order to take a close-up.So how guys what must you do? hint (*clap clap). Hehe.
At this place called the San-guo-Cheng (Castle of the Three-Kingdoms). This is where CCTV filmed the romance of the 3 kingdoms. Behind me (not sure whether you can see) is Tai-Hu, yeah another lake. The thing is, this lake is like 4 times bigger than S'pore!
This is a formation thing at some temple. It is said if you move around the five bats around the circle and then step onto the blue thing at the centre, you'll have a good marriage for married couples and romance will blossom for singles. =) (I STEPPED =D) Lol.
Ah with mum and dad at the other side of Tai-hu. See the ferris wheel behind? Yeah. looks so like the one we have in Singapore.
This was taken in Madam Tussaud's Shanghai wax museum. It has wax museums over a few countries in the world. Yeah its called "Zhen-ren-la-xiang-guan" in chinese. The wax figures are super real man.See on.
Ronaldo.Actually didnt wanna take with him but no other soccer-stars around alr! So no choice. Haiz, make do with him. =(
Haha, trying on to be like a china gymnastic person but it so hard to lift my legs up =(
Jordon!
I think this is Jerry Yan, isit? Hmmmm....
This is the beginning of the night scenes part. Some are a little unclear so do click on it to get a better colour view. On the ferry travelling along Huang-pu Jiang (Huang-pu river) while taking this. Super nice scenery. Everyone in the tour was in awe of the night view in Shanghai.
The permanent docking dragon restaurant by the river bank.
Dunno what hotel is that with the lotus at the top.Lol.
Dong-Fang-Ming-Zhu-Ta a.k.a The pearl of Shanghai. Super nice structure. And guess what, the middle section is built as president suites.COOL! =D
Some sphere-like building next to the Pearl of Shanghai. Looks so nice and class. So much like a dance hall kinda thing.
Shanghai-Tan! Yeah we always hear of tt old movie and mr keong keeps singing that song on teachers day which just triggers the whole school into laughter. Looks so much like a court house.
Yup,more of the beautiful structues lighted up at night.
A picture from above the Dong-Fang-Ming-Zhu-Ta! 263m above ground and its the position of the middle of the 3 balls. Obviously we cant go to the one at the top because its used for radio frequency transmissions!
Overall night view of Shanghai from above.Nice isn't it! Told you. So much more better than Singapore's
Students doing morning exercise at the school next to my hotel. So organised! To be honest, it looks a little much more organised than zhss's november papa charlie charlie PT. And the organisation is based on the student's own initiative so Im very impressed with it.
View of the city outside my hotel. Can you see the Pearl of Shanghai? Yup, only a little of it cos the rest is covered by fog. And fog is a issue not to be taken lightly there.
Taking a photo with a christmas tree at one of a street called Xing-Tian-Di. Yeah the street name sounds quite kid-ish but the things there are ouch! A cup of coffee is even more expensive than its starbucks equivalent in Singapore.
This is a picture of the small "pond" in a park in Shanghai. And their park is like a whole condo estate kinda land space with like 8 exits?!
Waiting for the bullet-train at the platform and its super COLD!
The bullet-train is here!
Looks like the train in Astro Boy.Lol. Sleek and Cool right! This is currently the world's fastest bullet train, beating the ones in Japan. Highest speed attainable,430km/h! Route distance, 32km, which is like very short and it links only from the train station to the airport.
=( only 301km/h for our trip but still it is quite fast and surprisingly, the trip is very smooth
Okay, last photo of my Shanghai trip! Everyone at the airport checking in.Notice the things sticking down from the roof, yeah that's the design on the airport at the Shanghai Pudong International airport. Unique right! =D
All in all, this is one of my greatest overseas trips.
The tour guide there is very very knowledgable in many aspects such as history, scenic structures and esp. feng-shui.Lol.I love her talks on feng-shui. The outdoor scenes were great and weather was nice too,9-13 degrees celcius. Our tour group was fantastic.Everyone was very punctual and the mood was there. There were a few families who were super funny throughout the whole trip and its tough not to laugh when they crack something up.
Hotels were fine (since its definitely better than the tents in NPCC).Food was at some point a little oily and salty but I super enjoyed the xiao long-bao and dong-po meat. The only disappointment for food was the breakfast which really sucked totally.Camp breakfast was so much better.
Slashing of prices was fun and having the shop-keeper chase you the whole corridor for you to relent in and buy their stuff.
It really made an impact on how I see the world now and its really a big big world out there. What we think over here as nomal is sometimes a luxury to those out there far far away. And we really too have parts to improve on and a long long way to go. Those who wish to go to Shanghai I seriously encourage you to go there with an open mind and immerse yourself in the culture and tradition there. Nothing more than fun can describe it.
And lastly, I would like to thank God for blessing me with a safe and enjoyable trip. =D

Had SYFC ystd.Ground sch exam = discussion session since I missed my lectures while overseas. Thgt that I might be able to go for keyboard next week but hv make-up safety brief!! Ah missing 2 keyboard lessons alr. Then lunch and mentoring session in the afternoon. My mentors were quite nice and they sorta described everything quite clearly to us. Tried a round of aircraft external checks and yay, still able to remember all the locations for the checks and the requirements! Suppossed to end at 6 but mentors all like rushing to eat prata I think so the whole session ended at 4. Lol. Rained super heavily outside the Seletar gate and so had to stand nearer to the seats instead of the boarding platform at the bus-stop. Thus, I missed the bus 86 and had to wait for the other one which costed me like #$%#$ minutes. Argh.
Sch re-opening soon and hmwk = unfinished. But never mind, when there's a will, there's a way so I'll get my will down tmr. =D

Received my FIRST Christmas present ystd! After SYFC, went to J8 to meet dad cos I dont feel like going home by public transport though its just like between bishan and toa payoh?! Ok then, went to royal sporting house to "look see look see". They had quite a few good discounts on and dad was trying on their adidas jackets. Well then he asked me if he looked ok and comfortable in it and I just gave the "yar quite ok" kinda answer. Then he said "quite ok ar? er ok lorh, buy 1 for you" Wah seh, that totally changed the whole thing man. Lol. WHOO HOO! =D
Speaking abt my trip, the S$1 pirated dvd drama serials!! I guess my aunts are going to sms my mum a whole exhaustive list on what to shows to buy back from there. Lol. Ok and if anyone wants to get a dvd from there just sms me yeah cos I'll be auto-roaming my phone, since its a free offer initiative by Sing-tel anyway. Taiwan serials, hong kong serials, korean serials or movies, anything I guess can be found there.=)
Manutd won liver-BOO on last sat! Luck was one of the evident contributing factors. Close saves by the defenders really saved the whole team and rooney's power strike was enough to close the game after a teves deflection from that. But the disappointing thing is that ass-ernal won chelsea and so yeah, both teams are still back to their usual point difference. =( Jia-you MANUTD! The christmas season is the most important period to regain back the points !
Gonna bring my SYFC stuff there to study =(. Cos there's the ground sch exams thing just on the next day when I return. Lucky for me Im not gonna miss much stuff but yeah the feeling of missing something, esp.lessons, doesn't seem right for me. Oh well I think as long as I pass its gonna be alright. I hope......Lol.
It was once and then forever...

Woke up at around 5.30 this morning. Parents were already up at 4.All of a sudden everyone seemed so quiet and went about with our washing-up. Left the house for the airport at about 6. In the car, our family started talking with the maid about how she's gonna spend life in Philippines. At some point we would laugh about life and how things are going on around us. There never seemed to be anything wrong but its always calm before the storm arrives. I can just feel the kind of feeling everyone had in them. Reached the airport, checked in her luggage and went for breakfast. Her last meal in Singapore. Nothing unusual though because chatting continued as usual. Ok then here comes it. We moved the luggage outside the toilets and after doing our "business", we all knew it was time to move on,not in the real sense of the phrase. We all just broke down and Dad also had tears welling up. We hugged and said our last words. It was something that was not to be expected by me. I thought that it would be alright for her to go home and nothing would be so big about it, but no. It then felt as though a member of the family was leaving and more possibly, forever. She saw me though Pri sch and Sec sch. She took care of my brother from the time he was born. And now, he in Sec 2. To round it off, her 12 years here in a way or another touched out lives and Im sure it left a positive mark on hers too. Now, home seems to be not the same anymore. Its not about the over dependency we had on her, but more of the feeling of lost. Her room below seems empty and echos can be heard from the conversations held in the room. It may take a few days for us to move on, but it takes nothing to erase it off.

Got interviewed my mediacorp ppl today while eating at SIM. Lol.Cos we were eating chicken rice and they were doing a TV programme on Campus Food. Marcus was like quite blur when they asked him to speak in Chinese and in the end I had to step in to finish off the interview. So I guess I'll be on TV quite soon. =D
Ahhh mum said no to soccer tmr cos of my FLU. BAD BAD FLU!!! ARGH.
